The “Truth Compass” 2 – Moving forward with Timotion 12 in 2026

Timotion supports us again this year!

The Truth Compass – education for critical thinking in the digital age

We have great news! Our project, the Truth Compass 2, has been selected for funding within Timotion 12.

The official announcement can be found here.

From the first edition to a new step forward

The first edition of the project, carried out between 2025–2026 with the support of Timotion 11, had a real impact on students.

We developed digital educational resources, created critical thinking video materials, and organized interactive workshops in schools, engaging over 400 students. The feedback we received showed that students became more attentive to the information they encounter online and more willing to verify sources and question their credibility.

More about what we achieved in The Truth Compass 1 can be found in the detailed report here.

Continuing with the Truth Compass 2

The materials will be built on:

  • specialized research in media literacy and critical thinking;
  • the results and experience gathered by the association’s team through direct work with students.

The new materials will address essential topics for understanding the online environment, through YouTube-style video content:

  • “How well can you spot fake news? Quiz for high school students”
  • “Fake news or not? Critical thinking quiz – lower secondary (level 2)”
  • “True or false? Quiz for primary school students (level 2)”
  • “Critical thinking in everyday life: 5 simple methods that actually work”
  • “How to recognize fake news through language: simple clues for kids”
  • “Why emotions mislead us: how to detect manipulative online content”
  • “Is this video real or AI-generated? How to verify information”

In addition to developing video materials, we will continue the series of media literacy and critical thinking workshops in schools, where students will interact directly with these resources and take part in practical exercises focused on analyzing online information.

The creation process will remain participatory, with students actively involved in testing and developing the materials.

Through this approach, we aim to create educational resources that not only inform, but also help children develop real skills in analysis, reflection, and decision-making in the digital environment.

Why are we continuing this project?

In a digital context where students are daily exposed to contradictory or misleading information, developing critical thinking and media literacy is essential.

Through the Truth Compass 2, we aim to:

  • provide practical tools for verifying information;
  • develop relevant and engaging educational content;
  • support teachers and schools in digital education;
  • contribute to the development of healthy information evaluation habits among students.

This project is made possible thanks to the support provided through Timotion 12, the largest sports fundraising event in western Romania.

We thank everyone who supports education and contributes to the development of this project!

Stay tuned — a new series of materials and activities for students is coming soon!
